The HLN Aerolyn 2000 PRO is a 2kW diesel air heater designed for vans, campervans, and small RVs. It blows heated air directly into the cabin and can warm a space of up to 20 cubic meters down to -40°F (-40°C).
HLN heaters are manufactured as original equipment for Fortune Global 500 vehicle makers, with 50 years of production history. The Aerolyn 2000 PRO uses the same OEM-grade engineering in a compact package built for aftermarket installation. Every unit is E-mark certified under ECE R122.
What makes this heater different from budget diesel heaters
The Aerolyn 2000 PRO uses a brushless fan motor rated for over 5,000 hours of operation — roughly 2.5 times the lifespan of typical brushed-motor heaters. It includes automatic altitude adjustment up to 10,000 feet, so it works reliably on mountain passes and ski trips without manual recalibration.
Smart control from your phone
The heater comes with a WiFi digital control panel that connects to the SmartLife phone app. You can start the heater, set a target temperature, and schedule automatic on/off times from your smartphone. A Bluetooth controller option is also available.
Complete installation kit included
Every unit ships with a complete installation kit — mounting bracket, exhaust system, fuel line, air ducting, and wiring harness. The fuel pump is compatible with Espar/Eberspacher ultra-quiet replacement pumps, so parts are easy to source.
At $699 with the full installation kit included, the Aerolyn 2000 PRO delivers OEM-grade quality at roughly 30–50% less than comparable Webasto or Espar retail products.
Best for
Van conversions, campervans, small RVs, boats, and any 12V vehicle where you need quiet, reliable cabin heat in cold weather.

Frequently asked questions
Is 2kW enough to heat my van?
Yes for most builds. The 2000 PRO modulates between 0.9 and 2.3 kW and comfortably heats spaces up to about 20 m³ — a typical Sprinter, Transit, or Promaster conversion, truck bunk, or boat cabin — even in sub-zero conditions. For a large box truck or poorly insulated space, step up to the 4kW model.
How loud is it?
Quieter than the numbers suggest. In an independent bench test of the Aerolyn line, the reviewer measured 55 dB on low just one foot from the hot-air outlet — a bare, uninstalled unit in a 40 dB room — and titled the video "The Quietest Diesel Heater I've Ever Tested," calling the sound "a very pleasant white noise" he could sleep to. Installed in a vehicle — heater in a cabinet or under the floor, pump mounted remotely, intake and exhaust outside — typical in-cabin noise is around 45 dB, about library level.
How much diesel and battery power does it use?
Fuel: 0.10–0.29 litres per hour — a typical overnight run uses one to two litres. Battery: independent testing measured an average draw of well under 1 amp on low once running; the glow pin draws more only during the 2–3 minute start.
Does it work at high altitude?
Yes — automatic altitude compensation keeps combustion clean up to roughly 10,000 ft with no manual adjustment. This is a key difference from budget heaters, which typically run rich and soot up at elevation.
What's included in the box?
Everything needed for a standard install: the heater, WiFi (or Bluetooth) digital controller, mounting plate, exhaust system, 5 m fuel line with protective cover, air ducting, wiring harness, and fuel filter. No hidden "installation kit" upcharge.
Can I install it myself?
Most owners with basic tools can, in an afternoon, using the included plain-English manual and our step-by-step guides. Critical rule: combustion air intake and exhaust must be routed outside the vehicle.
